Fox Point Real Estate Information

Fox Point is a relatively small community found in the southeastern portion of the state of Wisconsin. Fox Point has a population of approximately seven thousand residents, and is technically considered a village of Milwaukee County, which happens to be the most heavily populated count in the state. Fox Point is located within the metropolitan area of the city of Milwaukee, which is by far the largest and most important city in the state. Fox Point is found in the North Shore portion of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Area, and is generally considered to be a bedroom community. Fox Point encompasses a total area of just less than three square miles, including no large bodies of water.

Fox Point is a relatively homogeneous community, a fact which is at least partially explained by the high standard of living in Fox Point. The per capita income for Fox Point is quite high for Wisconsin, making Fox Point one of the upscale suburbs of Milwaukee. Fox Point is governed by a village board form of government even though the community is not technically incorporated. There are six members of the village board and a president, who serve on various committees and boards. These persons are elected to staggered three year terms, and are responsible for administering the day to day affairs of the community in addition to institutions such as the North Shore Public Library. Fox Point is home to the Chipstone Foundation, which provides a considerable contribution to the local economy.

The educational needs of Fox Point are met by primary and secondary institutions of both the public and private type, including Nicolet High School and Stormonth School. The nearby major city of Milwaukee is also home to a number of private and parochial schools in addition to numerous colleges and universities. Fox Point is lucky enough to have the Albert and Edith Adelman House, a structure listed on the National Register of Historic Places and designed by notable architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Points of interest in and around Fox Point include the Fox Bay Cinema Grill, the Frank Allen Gallery, Heidelberg Park, Brown Deer Village Park, Havenwoods State Forest, and Uihlein Soccer Park.
